Job summary

Knight Transportation is seeking a driven Operations/Planning professional to lead a fleet of 30+ drivers in Atlanta. You will manage driver availability, review P/L, and build relationships that enhance safety, service, and profitability. Collaborate with planners and sales to ensure customer satisfaction and on-time delivery.

The role demands strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to coach and train Driving Associates in a fast-paced environment. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' in Operations and/or Planning and/or Customer Accounts.
• Must be able to lead others.
• Must possess exceptional communication skills.
• Must be able to multi-task.
• Must be able to work in high pressure situations in a fast paced environment.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead a fleet of 30+ drivers and manage driver availability to maximize productivity.
• Review Profit/Loss for assigned area and maximize profitability.
• Develop relationships with Driving Associates to improve safety, service, equipment care, fuel performance and retention.
• Coach Driving Associates to achieve weekly mileage goals and manage home time and hours of service.
• Maximize P/L for all assigned tractors.
• Collaborate with Planners to assign drivers to optimal lanes.
• Discuss loads and service expectations with drivers.
• Provide training and coaching to help drivers reach their potential.
• Communicate safety expectations including pre-trip inspections and route conditions.
• Ensure payroll accuracy for assigned drivers.
• Provide timely in-person reviews for Driving Associates.
• Track freight to ensure on-time delivery.
• Work with sales/account teams to keep customers informed.
