Ryder System, Inc. in Edgewood, NY is hiring a NON-CDL Truck Driver for a local home-daily route with a 26' box truck. Pay is $26.50 per hour, 40–50 hours weekly, with paid training and a Monday–Friday schedule starting at 5:00 AM.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Minimum 6 months verifiable driving experience.
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
• Must have verifiable driving experience (6 months in last 3 years or 2 years in last 5 years or 5 years in last 10 years).
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification (last 3 years).
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Drive safely and comply with safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records and assist with loading/unloading freight as required.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal/state laws and company policies.
• Detect and eliminate safety hazards.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
