  • Provide transportation for events and cultural activities, including occasional after-hours.
  • Maintain professional, supportive interactions with youth and families.
  • Coordinate daily transportation schedules and calendars.
  • Use phone, Microsoft Teams, and other tools to stay informed of changes.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities throughout the day.
  • Conduct weekly vehicle inspections: oil and fluid levels, tire pressure and condition, lights.
  • Perform minor vehicle maintenance such as replacing light bulbs or fuses.
  • Maintain vehicle mileage logs and fleet documentation.
  • Use Fleetio to support vehicle tracking and maintenance.
  • Clean and sanitize transport vehicles daily per health and safety standards.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as assigned.

Title: Youth Transportation Driver

Location: 19909 SE Stark St, Portland, OR 97233

Schedule: Mon - Fri 9am - 5:30pm; occasional weekends or after hours as requested (overtime available)

Wage Range: $21.00 - $25.00 hourly, non-exempt

This role is responsible for providing safe and timely transportation for youth ages 12-18 to medical, legal, behavioral health, educational, and community appointments throughout the Portland metro area.

Position Overview
The Driver/Transporter plays a vital role in supporting our youth by ensuring they arrive safely to appointments, maintaining transportation schedules, managing vehicle documentation, and helping ensure NARA's transport vehicles remain safe, clean, and operational. No two days are exactly alike, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, working with youth, and being part of a collaborative care team.

What You Will Do

  • Maintain professional, supportive interactions with youth and families.
  • Coordinate daily transportation schedules and calendars.
  • Utilize phone, Microsoft Teams, and other communication tools to stay informed of schedule changes.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and transportation requests throughout the day.
  • Conduct weekly vehicle inspections, including checking:
    • Oil and fluid levels
    • Tire pressure and condition
    • Lights and vehicle safety features
  • Perform minor vehicle maintenance such as replacing light bulbs or fuses.
  • Maintain vehicle mileage logs, transportation records, and fleet documentation.
  • Utilize fleet management software (Fleetio) to support vehicle tracking and maintenance.
  • Clean and sanitize transport vehicles daily following organizational health and safety standards.
  • Assist with other program needs when transportation duties are limited.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as assigned.
