Job summary

Mead Lumber is seeking a delivery driver to transport merchandise to customer jobsites and unload items to the customer’s satisfaction. You will assist with loading/unloading, stock the yard, and ensure safe driving practices.

Eligible employees participate in our ESOP and enjoy benefits such as health plans, paid time off, and a 401(k). CDL is a plus, and forklift operation is required for some duties.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• CDL is a plus, not required.
• Must be able to operate a forklift.
• Ability to drive a manual transmission.
• Physically capable of lifting 75 pounds.
• Customer-oriented self-starter who learns quickly.

Responsibilities

• Drive and deliver merchandise to customer jobsites and unload to customers’ satisfaction.
• Load trucks according to the sales invoice.
• Unload materials and help store them properly in the yard.
• Maintain safe vehicle operation and perform basic inspections.
• Accurately record merchandise returns on credit memos.
• Communicate with customers to meet their needs.

Job Summary: Primary responsibility is to drive company vehicles to deliver merchandise to customer jobsites and physically unload the materials to the customer's satisfaction. Help load and unload trucks, put merchandise away, clean up yard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Learn company products, procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy.
• Load trucks according to the list of materials on the sales invoice.
• Delivers and unloads materials to customer’s satisfaction and on a timely basis.
• Maintain inspection of each vehicle you drive for safe driving.
• Accurately record all merchandise returns on a credit memo.
• Listen and work with customers to solve customer needs.

Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• CDL is a plus.
• Must be able to operate a forklift.
