Job summary

John Knox Village in Florida is seeking a Driver (Non CDL) to transport residents safely within the village. This full-time position operates Mon-Fri 11:00am-7:30pm with occasional weekend and holiday coverage.

Responsibilities include assisting residents, maintaining vehicle records, delivering interoffice mail, and responding to requests from residents and staff. Candidates must have a valid Florida driver’s license and pass a Level 2 background screening.

Qualifications

• Must pass Level 2 background screening through the Florida Clearinghouse.
• Employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations; physical requirements may include extensive lifting, standing, and walking.
• Read, write, and verbally communicate in English; language is essential for resident interactions.
• Valid Florida driver’s license in good standing.
• Adherence to all policies / procedures and safe work practices.
• Ability to read a map and follow its directions.

Responsibilities

• Transport residents safely to scheduled destinations within the village.
• Assist residents and other transportation drivers as needed.
• Maintain routine records of inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs on any vehicle.
• Work days, evenings, and weekends as required to perform duties.
• Participate in department safety and disaster policies.
• Keep vehicle clean and presentable at all times.
• Provide safe transportation by obeying traffic laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
• Observe and report changes in resident behavior to Transportation Supervisor.
• Routinely delivers interoffice mail to departments.
• Answer phone calls and accommodate requests from residents and staff.
• All other duties as requested, required or assigned.

Supervisor: Transportation Supervisor

Job Summary

Transport the residents of John Knox Village in a safe and courteous manner to and from scheduled destinations within the village.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Routinely provides assistance in lifting and transferring residents and lifting/balancing the equivalent of 50 pounds.
• Assists residents and other transportation drivers as needed.
• Maintains routine records of all inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs performed on any
• vehicle.
• Works days, evenings, and weekends as required to perform required duties.
• Participates in department safety and disaster policies.
• Keeps vehicle in a neat and clean appearance at all times.
• Provides safe transportation by obeying all traffic laws, observing safety regulations and maintaining safe driving record.
• Observes and reports any changes in resident behavior to Transportation Supervisor.
• Adheres to Transportation dress code and policies.
• Routinely delivers interoffice mail to departments.
• Answers phone calls directly, and accommodates requests from residents and staff.

Working Conditions

• Employees may be exposed to inclement weather conditions, high vehicular and radio traffic.
