PALS CHRYSALIS HEALTH CO. in Mingo Junction, OH is seeking a Driver for Non-Medical Transportation to pick up clients from Adult Living Facilities and transport them safely to programming, then return to the original location each day.

Split-shift schedule, Monday–Friday, with paid time off and discounted health benefits. Must pass a DOT physical, have a High School diploma or equivalent, and hold a valid Ohio driver’s license with <6 points.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

The Driver for Non-Medical Transportation is responsible for performing a variety of duties in support of programming. The driver will pick up clients from Adult Living Facilities or other agreed upon locations and transport them safely to programming. They are also responsible for safe transportation back to the agreed upon location on a daily basis, as well as transportation documentation, cleanliness, and scheduled maintenance of company vehicles to ensure all safety equipment is in good working order.

Schedule

Split Shift schedule: drive a route in the morning, break for 4–5 hours, then return to drive a route in the afternoon from Monday to Friday. Paid time off for holidays and discounted health benefits are available.

Position’s Essential Functions

• Safely pick up clients from an Adult Living Facility or other agreed upon location using a company vehicle.
• Safely take clients to an Adult Living Facility or other agreed upon location upon completion of the daily program using the company vehicle.
• Insure the safety of clients at all times during transportation on and off the van (i.e., using a safety step).
• Routinely check the functions of the van and maintain a proper maintenance schedule for the vehicle.
• Insure all safety equipment is in good working order.
• Supervise and provide support to clients.
• Document all required information, including vehicle safety checks, billing sheets, and other program documentation.
• Attend weekly technician meetings for additional training.
• Interact appropriately and professionally with clients and the community.

Qualifications

• Must successfully pass a DOT physical.
• Must have a minimum of a High School degree or equivalent knowledge of the principles and practices of the discipline.
• Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse groups and individuals.
• Must have appropriate experience and documentation capabilities.
• Maintains current and annual training requirements.
• Must successfully complete all required criminal background checks.
• Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license with fewer than six points and provide a BMV driver’s abstract.
• Must pass a physical and drug screen.
• Must be able to safely drive a company vehicle.
• Driving history must meet insurance carrier requirements.
• Must have at least six months of commercial vehicle driving experience.
