Job summary

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. in Pocatello, ID is seeking a Driver - Microbulk to support deliveries and cylinder handling on the first shift.

You will unload cylinders, assist customers, and maintain accurate delivery records while following DOT/TC regulations. The role requires a Class A or B CDL with HazMat endorsement (or ability to obtain within 60 days), a valid medical certificate, and 21+ years of age.

Qualifications

  • GED or high school diploma required.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Two years driving experience or truck driver training.
  • Valid Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain within 60 days.
  • Current medical examiner’s certificate or ability to pass a DOT physical.
  • No preventable accidents or license suspensions in past two years.
  • Must read and write English.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high standard of customer service during deliveries, including unloading and reloading cylinders.
  • Deliver and handle cylinders; driving about 30% of day; other tasks include paperwork and customer contact.
  • Record quantities and styles of products delivered and picked up; complete HazMat shipping orders per DOT/TC.
  • Placard vehicles per hazmat regulations and Linde standards.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and arrange maintenance as needed.
  • Interface with customers and use handheld devices for transactions and compliance.
  • Follow computer-generated route and sequence delivery plan.

What you will enjoy doing*
  • You will provide a high standard of customer service during deliveries, including unloading products and reloading empty cylinders
  • This role requires driving constitutes approximately 30% of the day, with the remainder involving deliveries, cylinder handling, shipping orders, paperwork, customer contact, and vehicle inspections
  • You will need to accurately count and record quantities and styles of products delivered and picked up and complete Hazardous Material shipping orders in accordance with DOT/TC regulations
  • You will placard vehicles according to hazardous material regulations and Linde standards
  • This role requires you to conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, and identify and ensure timely vehicle repairs and maintenance
  • You will operate a variety of equipment and regularly interface with both internal and external customers
  • Use handheld computers for customer transactions and compliance needs, following a computer-generated route and sequence delivery plan
What Makes You Great
  • You have a high School GED and must be 21 years or older
  • You have two (2) years of driving experience or completed a truck driver training course with equipment similar to Linde's
  • No preventable accidents, license suspensions, or moving violations in the past two (2) years
  • No alcohol-related convictions within the last ten (10) years
  • You have a current medical examiner’s certificate or ability to pass a DOT physical
  • Valid Class A or B CDL is required
  • Current Hazmat endorsement on CDL or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire is required
  • You have the ability to read and write in English
