Job summary

Linde plc in Pocatello, ID seeks a CDL driver for first shift to handle delivery routes of cylinder products. You will unload and reload cylinders, verify quantities, and perform timely inspections.

The role involves ~30% driving, with significant paper- work, shipping orders, and compliance tasks following DOT/TC regulations. Requirements include a valid Class A or B CDL, Hazmat endorsement (or within 60 days), a DOT medical card, and the ability to read and write English.

Qualifications

  • GED and be 21 years or older
  • Two years of driving experience or truck training with similar equipment
  • No preventable accidents, license suspensions, or moving violations in past two years
  • No alcohol-related convictions in the last ten years
  • Current medical examiner's certificate or ability to pass a DOT physical
  • Valid Class A or B CDL is required
  • Hazmat endorsement on CDL or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
  • Ability to read and write in English

Responsibilities

  • Deliveries with high standard of customer service, including unloading and reloading cylinders
  • Driving constitutes ~30% of the day; remaining time on deliveries, cylinder handling, shipping orders, paperwork, customer contact, and vehicle inspections
  • Accurately count and record quantities and styles of products delivered/picked up; complete Hazardous Material shipping orders in DOT/TC regulations
  • Placard vehicles per hazardous material regulations and Linde standards
  • Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; identify and arrange timely repairs/maintenance
  • Operate varying equipment and interface with internal and external customers
  • Use handheld computers for customer transactions and compliance, following route and delivery plan

What you will enjoy doing*

  • You will operate a variety of equipment and regularly interface with bothinternal and external customers
  • Use handheld computers for customer transactions and compliance needs,following a computer-generated route and sequence delivery plan
