Job Description

The Driver Manager will oversee multiple areas including operations, safety, compliance, employee relations, and customer service claims. The role requires strong management skills, effective communication, and the ability to develop and coach drivers to ensure safety, accuracy, and consistency.

Skills/Knowledge Required

• Strong management capabilities across various functions
• Excellent communication skills with management and drivers
• Ability to develop, coach, and counsel drivers

Responsibilities

• Manage all driver-related functions such as safety, compliance, employee relations, and breakdowns
• Coordinate with routing, scheduling, and customer service teams to ensure efficiency
• Work with maintenance to ensure trucks are properly maintained
• Support HR initiatives, including payroll and disciplinary actions
• Prepare and review daily and weekly reports
• Participate in accident investigations and review committees
• Coordinate and participate in driver training programs
• Evaluate customer locations and recommend improvements
• Provide coverage for dispatch in their absence

Qualifications

• Experience in the trucking industry
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and general software
• Experience with Geotab is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of FMCSA Hours of Service and compliance regulations
• Strong time management and prioritization skills
• Dependable and a proven team leader
