Job summary

The State of Washington Department of Licensing (DOL) is hiring a Licensing Services Representative (LSR2) for our Bellingham team. This non-permanent, 12‑month position requires in-person attendance Tue–Sat at the Bellingham Driver Licensing Office and involves processing licenses, IDs, and driving tests with an emphasis on accuracy and customer service.

Ideal candidates have two years of customer service experience, strong communication, and the ability to work in a team‑oriented public

Qualifications

• Two years of direct customer service work experience.
• Typing speed of 30 wpm or greater.
• U.S. Citizenship and valid WA driver's license with five years driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Verify documents and issue licenses and IDs in accordance with laws and procedures.
• Perform final review of enhanced license applications and determine eligibility.
• Collect licensing fees and issue ED/EDL IDs to eligible applicants.
• Assess customer qualifications and make independent licensing decisions.
• Travel to other offices as needed for coverage or training.
• Conduct driving skills tests with applicants in their vehicle.
