Job summary

Washington State Department of Licensing (DOL) is recruiting a Licensing Services Representative (LSR2) to join the Lacey team and issue driver licenses, enhanced licenses, and identification cards. This in-person role requires attendance Tue–Sat at the Lacey Driver Licensing Office and involves extensive training to confidently issue licenses and ensure compliance with current policies.

The position emphasizes customer service excellence, independent decision-making, and travel to other offices

Qualifications

• Two years of direct customer service work experience providing product/services to the general public.
• One year of experience using electronic systems and form templates to input data, navigate between multiple forms and screens, edit information and save completed work.
• Typing speed of 30 wpm or greater.

Responsibilities

• Verify authenticity of documents, evaluate information, and issue licenses and IDs in compliance with laws and procedures.
• Perform final review of enhanced license/ID applications and determine eligibility.
• Collect licensing fees and process applications.
• Approve or deny enhanced applications and issue EDL/EID to eligible applicants.
• Use sound judgement to assess customer qualifications for licensing issuance.
• Travel to other offices or for training as needed.
• Conduct driving skills tests as part of licensing issuance.
