This position provides administrative and technical support for the Driver Licensing Services Division and serves as a point of contact for staff, management, and the public. Duties include processing driver licensing transactions and re-examinations, reviewing documentation for statutory and regulatory compliance, and providing backup support for specialized programs.The position also assists with policy and manual updates, legislative review, testing materials, audits, inventory, purchasing, scheduling, and other administrative duties assigned by management.

Process re‑examinations, medical/vision statements, Driver Safety School certifications, out‑of‑state renewals, PDPS transactions, and license/ID corrections. Conduct online processing audits and provide backup for CDL and Federal Medical Certification programs.
Assist the public by phone, email, website, and in person. Answer licensing questions, resolve issues, and schedule CDL appointments. When assigned to telephone coverage, the employee is expected to remain available and actively respond to calls for approximately 90% of the assigned coverage period.
Coordinate updates to Driver Licensing policies, procedures, and Driver's/Motorcycle Manuals. Review legislative changes and recommend updates to manuals, procedures, and test questions.
Maintain equipment and supply inventories, process printing/purchase requisitions, coordinate with vendors and the State Print Shop, distribute mail, and update licensing schedules. Assist Driver Licensing staff, examiners, and management by phone, email, website, and in person.
Assist the Administrator and provide backup to the Program Manager and Home Office staff. Perform additional duties and provide office coverage as assigned.
Coursework/training or experience related to research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency; business administration; accounting; customer service; and/ or technical support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
Experience in driver licensing, government administration, or a related regulatory environment. Experience interpreting laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Experience reviewing records and documentation for compliance and resolving complex issues. Experience providing customer service and technical assistance to staff and the public. Experience reviewing or updating policies, procedures, manuals, forms, or testing materials. Experience with audits, inventory, purchasing, or vendor coordination.
Regular and reliable attendance required.
Rotating 8 hour shifts: 7:30am - 4:00pm, 8:00am - 4:30pm, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Knowledge of driver licensing laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and Nebraska Rules of the Road.
Strong research, problem‑solving, organizational, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
Strong written and verbal communication and customer‑service skills.
Ability to review records and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
Ability to use multiple computer systems, databases, and Microsoft Office applications.
