Job summary

State of South Carolina DMV in Spartanburg is seeking a License Examiner III to administer road tests for multiple vehicle classes and verify applicants’ fitness and knowledge of driving laws. You will process licenses, registrations, and related documents while assisting customers with inquiries in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent), a valid SC driver’s license, and ability to pass a criminal background check; CDL examiner training is also required

Responsibilities

• Administers road test examinations for multiple classes (A, B, C, D, E, F, M, CDL where applicable).
• Determines applicants' fitness and competency to operate motor vehicles.
• Issues licenses, permits, registrations, and titles; processes related documents.
• Answers customer inquiries by phone or in person and directs customers to appropriate areas.
• Greets and directs customers to relevant offices; handles receipts and deposits as needed.
• Performs routine maintenance on equipment and handles paperwork such as faxes and mail.
