Job summary

Colorado DMV Driver License Technician Trainee role awaits you if you enjoy helping Coloradans navigate licensing processes. You will learn to issue driver licenses, identification cards, and permits while following statutes and Department policies.

The position is onsite at the Loveland Driver License Office and may travel between offices. New hires are designated in training for the first year and must complete DLF Certification.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a customer service role.
• College coursework may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Document this experience in your application in detail.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers as the primary point of contact.
• Communicate with customers about needs, eligibility and compliance.
• Assess behavior and source documents for first-line decision making.
• Process computer-generated driver's license, ID documents and hearing requests.
• Administer written, oral, automated testing and grade examinations for licenses and permits.
• Qualify applicants for a driver's license and Colorado ID card.
• Assess authenticity of documentation by comparing statements with data.
• Collect and account for money received for documents issued.
