Qualifications

• Two (2) years of work experience affording public contact, knowledge of Maine motor vehicle laws and regulations, and a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred Maine BMV examiner training, IDEC and/or CCKE certifications, and prior Driver License Examiner experience.
• Experience with scheduling systems, databases, and reporting tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administers road skills tests for Class A, B, and C licenses, motorcycles, and school buses.
• Scores written and oral examinations and explains results to applicants.
• Performs vision screening and uses digital photo licensing equipment.
• Operates tablets and desktop software to record examination results.
• Provides accurate licensure guidance and responds to public inquiries.
• Maintains testing equipment and materials in good condition.
• Investigates adverse driving reports and re-tests applicants as needed.
• May travel statewide to conduct examinations.
