Driver

Responsibilities

• Loading, transporting, delivering and unloading items to clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner.
• Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure orders are complete, charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied.
• Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles.
• Collecting payments for delivered items as needed.
• Providing excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling complaints from clients.
• Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules.
• Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
• Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries.
• Operating equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.
• Performing any other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Good history of DMV/MVR record.
• Possess a valid driver’s license appropriate for the class of vehicle.
• Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non‑exempted interstate DOT medical card.
• Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.

• Ability to use forklift or pallet jack to move pallets and/or products.
• Successfully pass background checks, including criminal history and drug screening.

Physical Requirements

• Successfully pass DOT physical exam.
• Successfully pass the Human Performance Evaluation on lift, lift‑carry, push‑pull, climb, and repetitive posture.
• Have adequate vision and hearing for the job requirements.
• Move frequently, stand, walk, and sit as required.
• Use hands frequently to touch, handle, feel, and reach with arms.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
• Perform repetitive hand use, including pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs and reaching above shoulder height.
• Frequently bend and squat as required.
• Legally operate a motor vehicle and safely enter/exit the vehicle, including rear cargo area.

Education and Training

High school or GED equivalent. Proven box truck or at least 24 ft‑long truck driving experience.

Work Conditions

• Office and warehouse environment.
• Occasional periods of standing or sitting for extended periods.
• Required wearing of appropriate PPE.
• Exposure to hot/cold weather and loud noises in a warehouse environment.
• Frequent computer and telephone use.
• Frequent communication with people throughout the day.
