Primary Functions

The driver will pick up and drop off items while adhering to assigned routes and time schedules. A reliable driver must transport items in a safe, timely manner, in conjunction with customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Loading, transporting, delivering and unloading items to clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner.
• Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied.
• Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles.
• Collecting payments for delivered items as needed.
• Providing excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling complaints from clients.
• Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules.
• Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
• Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries.
• Operating equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.
• Any other related duties as assigned by the management.

Skills and Qualifications

• A good history of DMV/MVR record.
• Possess a valid driver's license appropriate for the class of vehicle.
• Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-exempt interstate DOT medical card required.
• Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
• Strong time management and customer service skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Able to use forklift or pallet jack to move the pallets and/or products.
• Successfully pass background checks including criminal history and drug screening.

Physical Requirements

Successfully pass DOT physical exam and Human Performance Evaluation on Lift, Lift-Carry, Push-Pull, Climb, and Repetitive Posture. The employee must be able to see and hear. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. Frequent use of hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms is required. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 75lbs. Repetitive hand use, including pushing and pulling up to 50lbs and reaching above shoulder height, as well as frequent bending and squatting, are required. The employee must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle as well as the rear cargo area.

Education and/or Training

High school or GED equivalent. Proven box truck or at least 24‑ft long truck driving experience.

Work Conditions

Office and warehouse environment. Occasional periods of standing or sitting for extended periods of time. Required wearing of appropriate PPE. Exposure to hot/cold weather and loud noises in a warehouse environment. Frequent computer and telephone use. Frequent communication with people throughout the day. Deliver products in inclement weather conditions.
