Job summary

BUTTONWILLOW WAREHOUSE COMPANY INC is seeking a Class A CDL capable driver to deliver hazardous and non-hazardous materials to customers across assigned routes. You will perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections, verify shipping paperwork, secure loads, and comply with DOT and Hazmat safety standards.

Responsibilities include accurate paperwork, communication with dispatch, and delivering professional service while maintaining trucks in good condition.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Class A CDL.
• Hazmat endorsement required; tanker endorsement when required.

Main ResponsibilitiesSafely operate Class A commercial vehicles.Deliver hazardous and non-hazardous materials to customers.Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.Verify products, quantities, shipping papers, placards, and delivery locations.Make sure loads are properly secured before transport.Follow DOT, Hazmat, and company safety requirements.Safely load and unload products when required.Use required personal protective equipment (PPE).Maintain accurate delivery tickets, logs, and other paperwork.Communicate with dispatch regarding deliveries, delays, or problems.Report spills, accidents, equipment problems, or unsafe conditions immediately.Keep trucks and equipment clean and in good working condition.Provide professional and courteous customer service.Attend required safety and Hazmat training.Perform other duties as assigned.Safety ExpectationsSafety is a top priority. Drivers must stop and report any unsafe condition, damaged equipment, leaking containers, incorrect paperwork, or improperly secured loads before continuing with a delivery.RequirementsValid Class A CDL.Hazmat endorsement.Tanker endorsement when required.Current DOT medical certification when required.Acceptable driving record.Ability to meet DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements.Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles and delivery equipment.Ability to read shipping papers, labels, placards, and delivery instructions.Dependable attendance and good communication skills.Preferred ExperiencePrevious Class A driving experience.Hazmat or tanker experience.Experience delivering fertilizer, agricultural chemicals, pesticides, or similar products.Physical RequirementsMust be able to safely enter and exit trucks, perform vehicle inspections, connect equipment when required, and work outdoors in different weather conditions. Employees must wear required PPE and follow company safe-lifting practices.
