Pitney Bowes is hiring a Non CDL Truck Driver, 1st Shift in Romulus, MI. Join our Presort Services facility and earn $25 per hour with weekly pay and possible overtime.

Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, delivering mail, maintaining logs, and ensuring safety. You will operate box/straight trucks up to 26,000 GVWR and work overtime as needed, with a focus on accuracy and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• Must be minimum 21 years old and able to drive a box/straight truck up to 26,000 GVWR.
• Minimum 6 months verifiable driving experience in similar vehicles in the last 3 years.
• Able to read and speak English sufficiently for communication and records.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to read a map and directions.
• Must lift at least 50 lbs and be able to work overtime including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles per pre-trip guidelines daily and report defects.
• Maintain daily logs or route sheets; manage mileage and cargo.
• Pick up and deliver mail to customers and obtain signatures.
• Follow safety/security policies and keep the vehicle clean.
• Load/unload, wrap pallets, and keep work areas clean and safe.

You are

• Inspect assigned vehicles by Pitney Bowes pre-trip inspection guidelines and procedures daily.
• Report any defective findings to the Transportation Supervisor to be fixed immediately.
• Maintains a daily driver’s log or route sheet for mileage, stops and cargo, or utilization of Samsara system.
• Responsible for picking up and delivering mail from our customers.
• Maintain documentation for customer pickups such as collecting signatures.
• Knows and understands safety and security precautions and follows company policies and keeps vehicle clean.
• Ensure the mail is reviewed for proper dates, presort slugs and a pickup slip are attached with each order prior to loading on the truck.
• Returns client damaged or undeliverable mail, following internal handling procedures for damaged secured mail.
• Uses all required cell phone applications.
• Performing warehouse duties include wrapping pallets, stacking trays, and loading trucks.
• Keeps work area clean by ensuring mail bins are under machines or in APC’s, plastic straps are off floor to prevent possible tripping hazards, sweeping the floors between assigned pickups or deliveries, and all other duties as assigned.
• Always maintain a professional appearance when collecting mail from customers.

Requirements

• Must be minimum 21 years in age.
• Ability to drive a Box and/or Straight Truck up to 26,000 GVWR.
• Must have a minimum of 6 months verifiable driving experience in similar sized vehicles (i.e., Box and/or Straight Truck) within the last 3 years with a safe driving record.
• Can read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.
• Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license (State in which driver resides)
• Ability to read a map and understand directions.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs., walk, stand, stoop, and bend with or without accommodation.
• Good attendance is mandatory.
• Must have the ability to work mandatory overtime that may include weekends, holidays and or a different shift with little or no advance notice.
