Job summary

Pitney Bowes is hiring a Non CDL Truck Driver for 1st shift at our Romulus, MI Presort Services facility. You will inspect vehicles, log routes, and handle mail pickups/deliveries. Daily home time, overtime potential, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a 401k accompany this role.

Minimum 21 years old with a valid license and 6 months of similar-vehicle experience are required. Reading and speaking English is essential to communicate with customers and complete records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years old with valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to drive a box/straight truck up to 26,000 GVWR and lift 50 lbs.
• 6 months verifiable driving experience in similar sized vehicles within the last 3 years.
• Able to read and speak English to communicate with the public and complete records.

Responsibilities

• Inspect assigned vehicles using company pre-trip guidelines and report defects.
• Maintain daily logs for mileage, stops, and cargo (Samsara system).
• Pick up and deliver mail from customers and obtain signatures.
• Ensure proper dates, presort slugs, and pickup slips are attached before loading.
• Assist with warehouse tasks like wrapping pallets and loading trucks.
• Keep work area clean and present a professional appearance at all times.

Report any defective findings to the Transportation Supervisor to be fixed immediately.* Maintains a daily driver's log or route sheet for mileage, stops and cargo, or utilization of Samsara system.* Responsible for picking up and delivering mail from our customers.* Maintain documentation for customer pickups such as collecting signatures.* Knows and understands safety and security precautions and follows company policies and keeps vehicle clean.* Ensure the mail is reviewed for proper dates, presort slugs and a pickup slip are attached with each order prior to loading on the truck.* Returns client damaged or undeliverable mail, following internal handling procedures for damaged secured mail.* Uses all required cell phone applications.* Performing warehouse duties include wrapping pallets, stacking trays, and loading trucks.* Keeps work area clean by ensuring mail bins are under machines or in APC's, plastic straps are off floor to prevent possible tripping hazards, sweeping the floors between assigned pickups or deliveries, and all other duties as assigned.* Always maintain a professional appearance when collecting mail from customers.As a **Non CDL (Straight/Box) Truck Driver**, you have:* **Must be minimum 21 years in age.*** **Ability to drive a Box and/or Straight Truck up to 26,000 GVWR.*** **Must have a minimum of 6 months verifiable driving experience in similar sized vehicles (i.e., Box and/or Straight Truck) within the last 3 years with a safe driving record.*** **Can read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.*** Valid state motor vehicle operator's license (State in which driver resides)* Ability to read a map and understand directions.* Ability to lift at least 50 lbs., walk, stand, stoop, and bend with or without accommodation.* Good attendance is mandatory.* Must have the ability to work mandatory overtime that may include weekends, holidays and or a different shift with little or no advance notice.**Our Team:**Pitney Bowes Presort Services performs mail sorting; performing some of the work that would typically be performed by the USPS(R).
