Job Description Summary:Aviagen Turkeys, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced CDL Class B Driver to join our Transportation team.This position is primarily responsible for safely transporting eggs from our farms to hatcheries and other company locations. This is a mostly local driving position, with limited out-of-state travel.The Driver II is responsible for operating a commercial motor vehicle safely and professionally while complying with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, company policies, and applicable local, state, and federal laws.Job Description:Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSafely operate a commercial motor vehicle while transporting eggs between farms, hatcheries, and other company locationsComply with all Department of Transportation regulations and company safety policiesPerform and document pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including tires, oil, fuel, lights, brakes, hoses, and other equipmentAssist with loading and unloading as neededEnsure loads are properly secured before movementMaintain required documentation, including equipment, trip, time, and load recordsClean and wash trucks and equipment as necessaryReport vehicle or equipment maintenance concerns promptly to the appropriate supervisorFollow company biosecurity and sanitation requirements when traveling between farms and hatcheriesPerform other duties as assignedJob QualificationsMinimum 21 years of ageValid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) requiredSatisfactory driving recordPrevious commercial driving experience preferredKnowledge of DOT regulations and applicable state and federal motor vehicle lawsAbility to safely operate a commercial vehicle in rural and farm environmentsAbility to read, understand, and complete required documentationAbility to work independently and manage time effectivelyDependable, safety-conscious, and professionalHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredBasic math skillsPhysical and Work RequirementsAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsAbility to sit and drive for extended periods and regularly climb in and out of the truck cabAbility to lift up to 75 poundsAbility to work around agricultural environments, including animal-related odorsAbility to work around moving equipment and in environments where noise levels may exceed 85 decibelsAbility to work varying schedules, including early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as business needs requireBenefits: Aviagen USA provides a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the healthcare and financial well-being of our employees.
