Job summary

DO & CO in New York City is seeking a Driver Helper to join our dynamic team. You will assist with loading and unloading catering equipment, ensure accurate flight preparation, and support drivers throughout the process in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, the ability to lift up to 75 pounds, and flexible availability including nights, holidays, and weekends. Medical, dental, vision benefits, and 401(k) eligibility are offered.

Responsibilities

• Load airline catering equipment, meals, and supplies into catering vehicles and assist drivers.
• Complete final flight checks to ensure all items are present and flights are catered accurately.
• Assist drivers with loading, unloading, pickup, and delivery of goods and materials.
• Support the loading and unloading of aircraft according to procedures and regulations.
• Comply with airport, airline, company, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Load airline catering equipment, meals, and supplies into catering vehicles and assist drivers throughout the loading process.
• Complete final flight checks to ensure all required items are present and flights are catered accurately.
• Add missing items and ice as needed and notify the Flight Assembly team of missing carts, canisters, or bulk‑loaded items.
• Assist drivers with loading, unloading, pickup, and delivery of goods and materials.
• Support the loading and unloading of aircraft according to airline and DO & CO procedures, regulations, and specifications.
• Assist with required vehicle fueling and pre‑ and post‑operation checks.
• Immediately report vehicle damage, mechanical concerns, or other irregularities to Dispatch.
• Comply with all airport, airline, company, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations outlined in the Food Safety Management System handbook.
• Report food safety concerns or system issues to management and the Hygiene and Food Safety team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Proactive, dependable, and well‑organized.
• Comfortable managing a substantial workload in a fast‑paced environment.
• Works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Capable of completing assigned tasks efficiently while meeting strict deadlines.
• Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and move products, equipment, and supplies weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Comfortable standing and working on your feet for extended periods and in environments with varying temperatures.
• Flexible availability, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must successfully complete the mandatory airport security‑clearance process for the assigned location. This includes meeting all TSA and U.S. Customs requirements, as outlined in 49 CFR § 1542.209, and obtaining the appropriate airport‑issued identification badge, such as a SIDA, AOA, or equivalent badge, in accordance with local airport authority regulations.
