Job summary

DO & CO is seeking a Driver Helper in Des Plaines, IL to support our logistics operations and assist drivers with loading, unloading and deliveries. The role requires physical stamina, reliability, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather while maintaining safety standards.

Driver helper

We have an incredible opportunity for a dynamic, energetic, and eager Driver Helper in Des Planes, IL!

Responsibilities

• Assist drivers with loading, off-loading, pick-up and delivery of goods and materials. load/unload aircraft according to airline and DO & CO regulations and specifications and ensure flights are always catered correctly.
• Ensure all vehicles are maintained in full working condition (including fueling and pre/post checks) and reports any vehicle irregularities to dispatch immediately. Comply with all Airport and Airlines and other applicable rules/regulations.
• Comply with food, safety and hygiene regulations as stated in the food safety management system handbook and report problems with the food safety management system to their manager and the hygiene and food safety team. Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• Capable to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Requirements necessary to obtain airport ID
• Must Pass a criminal background check
• Will be exposed to extreme temperature changes and noise
• Majority of duties performed outside in all weather conditions
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, move product, equipment and supplies up to seventy-five (75) pounds
• Must be able to work at heights up to 20-25 feet
• Regularly stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours
• Communicate effectively with team members, make sure communication is clear and understood by co-workers
