Job summary

MTM Transit, in partnership with Valley Metro, seeks Full-Time Paratransit Shuttle Bus Drivers (Entry-Level, Non-CDL) in Gilbert, AZ. Training classes start weekly. Pay is $21.50/hr with benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid training, overtime, and a 401(k) with company match.

You’ll provide safe, reliable transportation, assist with loading, and ensure on-time pickup while delivering friendly, customer-focused service to riders with diverse needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Valid US driver's license for past 3 years.
• Pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen.
• No DUI or DWI convictions in past 10 years.
• Flexible schedule: 7 days a week, 4:00am–1:00am, 32–40 hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transportation.
• Demonstrate defensive driving and strong customer service.
• Assist passengers with loading/unloading.
• Assist with mobility device and securement as required.
• Ensure on-time pickup and drop-off.
• Complete pre/post trip inspections and paperwork.
• Utilize tablets or electronic devices as required.

What will your job look like?

MTM Transit in partnership with Valley Metro is looking for Full-Time Paratransit Shuttle Bus Drivers (Entry-Level, Non-CDL) to join our team in Gilbert, AZ. We currently have training classes that start every week.

What You’ll Need:

Experience, Education & Certifications:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Must be 21 years or older
• Valid U.S. Driver's License for the past 3 years
• Possess valid authorization to work in the State of Arizona and the United States
• Must be able to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screening
• Must pass criminal background check investigation & Motor Vehicle Record check
• No DUI or DWI convictions in the past 10 years
• No Reckless driving in the past 5 years
• Must not have more than 1 moving violation during each of the last 3 years
• In the event that your license has been previously revoked, you must have at least 3 full subsequent years post reinstatement with no violations
• Schedule flexibility: Looking for individuals who are available 7 days a week between the hours of 4:00am - 1:00am (32-40 hours per week) Shifts will be assigned after training is completed

Skills:

• Ability to use a tablet, GPS, two-way radio, or other electronic device
• Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
• Ability to communicate with others and comprehend instructions
• Ability to understand highway traffic signs, signals, maps, manifests, and schedules
• Ability to obtain knowledge of FTA, ADA, and DOT regulations
• Familiarity with the main roadways and major highways in the service area

What You’ll Do:

• Provide safe and reliable transportation
• Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills
• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
• Must assist with passenger loading and unloading from vehicle
• Must assist with any mobility device and securement as required for safety protocols
• Ensure the on-time pick-up and drop off of the customer
• Demonstrates understanding and sensitivity to the needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities
• Complete thorough vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and DVI inspections as required
• Complete paperwork as required
• Utilize tablets or electronic devices as required
