Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a Driver - Cylinder in Buffalo, NY. The role involves delivering and unloading gas cylinders, handling materials, and maintaining accurate shipment records with DOT-compliant paperwork.

Must have a High School diploma, a current CDL A/B with Hazmat, and a valid DOT medical certificate. A minimum of two years driving experience is preferred; English reading/writing is required.

Qualifications

• High School degree or GED required.
• 2 years driving experience or completion of truck driver training.
• No preventable accidents or moving violations in past 2 years.
• Hazmat endorsement in CDL or ability to obtain within 60 days.
• DOT medical examiner’s certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and unload cylinders to customer locations; return empty cylinders to vehicle.
• Maintain accurate counts of products delivered and picked up.
• Prepare shipping orders and required paperwork; log quantities in the system.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and address any issues.
• Operate forklift and other plant equipment; sustain safety and quality controls.

What you will enjoy doing*

• You will provide a high standard of Customer Service while delivering, which includes unloading of products and movement to customer use point and reloading the returned empty cylinders to the vehicle.
• Driving represents approximately 30 % of the day, the remaining portion of the day includes delivery, cylinder handling, shipping orders/paperwork, customer contact, vehicle AM and PM inspections
• You will accurately count and record quantities and styles of product delivered and picked up
• Complete Hazardous Material shipping orders papers in accordance with DOT/TC Regulations
• Placard vehicle according to required hazardous material regulations and Linde standards
• You will conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Identify need for vehicle repairs and/or maintenance and ensure it is accomplished on time
• Processes medical and industrial gas cylinders using established plant guidelines and procedures
• Performs visual, physical and odor tests on cylinders before filling and determines whether retesting and/or repairs are required
• You will check for cylinder quantities, styles and product, and fill any necessary product
• Loads and unloads product from weekly shuttle truck
• Operates and maintains cylinder scales and associated equipment
• Prepares warehouse transfer orders and accompanying paperwork for shipment and keys into the computer the quantities, styles and products filled in order to justify the stock inventory
• Completes and maintains quality control documentation as per company and Governmental procedures
• You will operate a forklift truck and other plant vehicles

What Makes You Great

• High School Degree/G.E.D. is required
• You have 2 years driving experience or have completed a course of instruction from a truck driver training school that operates equipment similar to Linde's
• No preventable accidents, license suspensions or other moving violations in the past 2 years
• You have no alcohol related convictions within the last 10 years
• A current medical examiner’s certificate or the ability to pass a DOT physical
• Valid class A/B CDL is required
• Current Hazmat on CDL or ability to obtain Hazmat within 60 days of hire
• You have 2+ yrs. experience in plant or manufacturing environment preferred
• You can read and write in English
• You are 21 years or older

Pay Range: $21.63-$31.73
