Job summary

zTrip is seeking a Driver Compliance Specialist in Austin, TX to support a growing driver network. You will manage permits, licensing, and regulatory documentation while fostering driver engagement and performance excellence.

You will build relationships with drivers, guide onboarding, maintain compliance records, and monitor performance trends to support retention and safety. This role emphasizes collaboration with internal teams and regulatory agencies to ensure workforce stability.

Qualifications

  • Experience in transportation, compliance, operations, or driver management preferred.
  • Knowledge of permitting, licensing, DOT regulations, or transportation compliance preferred.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and administrative abilities.
  • Experience coaching employees or independent contractors preferred.

Responsibilities

We're looking for a detail-oriented and people-focused Driver Compliance Specialist to join our Lincoln team. In this role, you'll support the success of our driver network by ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements while fostering driver engagement, retention, and performance excellence.

As a key resource for drivers, you'll help manage permitting, licensing, compliance documentation, performance monitoring, and driver support initiatives. Your ability to build relationships, communicate effectively, and proactively address issues will contribute directly to workforce stability, operational excellence, and driver success.

What You'll Do
Driver Compliance & Permitting
  • Manage driver permits, licenses, certifications, and regulatory documentation
  • Monitor permit expiration dates and ensure timely renewals
  • Guide drivers through onboarding, permitting, licensing, and qualification requirements
  • Maintain accurate compliance records and driver files
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Communicate compliance updates, deadlines, and requirements to drivers
  • Partner with regulatory agencies and internal departments as needed
Driver Retention & Engagement
  • Build strong relationships with drivers through consistent communication and support
  • Conduct regular driver check-ins to identify concerns and improve retention
  • Develop and support initiatives that increase driver satisfaction and engagement
  • Help resolve driver concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Recognize and celebrate driver achievements, milestones, and successes
  • Collaborate with leadership to implement retention-focused programs and strategies
  • Act as an advocate for drivers while supporting company objectives
Driver Performance Management
  • Monitor driver attendance, productivity, service levels, and operational performance
  • Provide coaching and guidance to help drivers meet company expectations
  • Identify performance trends and proactively address opportunities for improvement
  • Support corrective action and performance improvement initiatives when necessary
  • Promote accountability while maintaining a positive and supportive driver experience
  • Assist drivers in understanding company policies, procedures, and performance standards
Reporting & Administrative Support
  • Maintain accurate records related to compliance, performance, and driver engagement
  • Track retention, turnover, compliance, and performance metrics
  • Generate reports and provide updates to leadership
  • Identify trends and recommend solutions to improve driver retention and operational results
  • Support workforce planning and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
  • Experience in transportation, compliance, operations, driver management, human resources, employee relations, or a related field preferred
  • Knowledge of permitting, licensing, DOT regulations, or transportation compliance preferred
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Exceptional organizational and administrative abilities
  • Experience coaching employees or independent contractors preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and reporting systems
