Job summary

PODS in Savannah, GA is seeking a CDL driver responsible for the delivery and pickup of containers at customer sites. You will operate a commercial truck with a lift mechanism, ensuring safe, incident-free service and maintaining a professional rapport with customers.

Responsibilities include daily pre- and post-trip inspections, handling rental paperwork, coordinating with the Market Manager, and supporting storage center operations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 months experience as a CDL driver.
• Current/valid CDL A or B for the assigned state.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a commercial truck with a lift to load and unload containers safely.
• Perform and log daily pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and lift.
• Accept add-on deliveries to meet business needs.
• Use handheld device for delivery verification and navigation.
• Operate a forklift and/or overhead crane as needed.
• Inspect containers and ensure presentation for delivery to customers.
• Coordinate rental paperwork and payment with customers.
• Communicate with Driver Lead or Market Manager about questions or issues.
• Perform repairs of containers and lifts in the field and at storage centers.
• Provide backup support for storage center functions.
• Maintain cleanliness of the truck cab.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Rate:Minimum $24.50per hour Maximum $25 per hour

In accordance with New York, Colorado, California, Washington and other applicable laws, PODS is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Individual pay decisions are ultimately based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, geography, and balancing internal equity.

Job Summary

Responsible for delivery and pickup of containers to and/or from customer locations; provide an effective and incident free delivery or pickup of a container while maintaining excellent rapport with the customer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a commercial truck with a patented lift mechanism to load and unload containers at customer sites in a safe manner by following all safety rules
• Perform and log daily pre and post trip inspections of commercial vehicle and lift
• Accept add-on deliveries as required to meet business needs
• Use company handheld computer for delivery verification and navigation
• Operate a forklift and/or an overhead crane
• Clean and inspect containers to ensure they are presentable for delivery to customer
• Coordinate rental paperwork and payment with the customer
• Communicate with the Driver Lead or Market Manager on customer questions and/or issues; Prepare driver notes as needed
• Perform repairs of containers and lifts in the field and at the storage center
• Provide backup for storage center functions when needed
• Maintain cleanliness of truck cab (keep free from debris inside and outside)
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

• Typically reports to Management. Direct supervisor job title(s) typically include: Market Manager, Territory Manager
• Job is NOT directly responsible for managing other employees (e.g., hiring/termination and/or pay decisions, performance management)

Qualifications

To qualify, you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent as well as a minimum of 3 months of experience employed as a CDL driver. In addition, you must maintain a current/valid CDL A or B from the state in which position is assigned and be at least 21 years of age (insurance requirement).
