Job summary

Gerdau in the United States is seeking a CDL A Driver to operate diesel straight trucks and tractor/trailers, including roll-off, dump, and van trailers. The starting wage is $28.41 per hour, with opportunities to haul steel products for suppliers and customers in a dynamic outdoor work environment.

The role requires a valid Class A CDL (Tanker and HazMat endorsements are a plus), at least 9 months of experience on large mobile equipment, and the ability to follow written and verbal

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with DOT regulations knowledge.
• Experience in operating large mobile equipment or hauling vehicles.
• Comfort with smartphone/GPS technology and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate diesel straight trucks and tractor/trailers (roll-off, dump, and van trailers).
• Pick up and deliver steel products and materials to suppliers and customers.
• Follow established procedures while ensuring full compliance with DOT regulations.
• Read and work from invoices, shipping tickets, and electronic instructions.
• Maintain accurate driver logs, trip reports, and inspection reports.
• Assist with loading/unloading, secure loads properly, and ensure safe transport.
• Maintain professional and courteous relationships with customers and vendors.
• Perform routine vehicle cleaning and basic upkeep.

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• ValidClass A CDL(Tanker and HazMat endorsements are a plus)
• Minimum of9 months experienceoperating large mobile equipment or hauling vehicles
• Comfort usingsmartphone/GPS technology
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office; SAP experience is an asset)
• Knowledge oftraffic regulations and load restrictions
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Flexibility to work in various weather conditions

• Physical activity including securing loads and assisting with unloading
• Working in a variety of weather conditions, with most time spent in a truck cab
