Job summary

Gerdau Ameristeel Corp. is seeking a CDL Class A Driver to join the team in Kentucky. You will drive diesel trucks and tractor/trailers, deliver steel products to customers, and maintain accurate logs and reports.

The role emphasizes safety, adherence to DOT regulations, and customer service, with weekday day shifts and home every night. Competitive hourly wage is offered; benefits include standard medical/dental options and 401(k).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Valid Class A CDL (Tanker and HazMat endorsements are a plus).
• Minimum of one year experience operating large vehicles or hauling.
• Comfort using smartphone/GPS technology.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office; SAP experience is an asset).
• Knowledge of traffic regulations and load restrictions.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Flexibility to work in various weather conditions.
• Strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate diesel straight trucks and tractor/trailers (roll-off, dump, and van trailers).
• Pick up and deliver steel products and materials to suppliers and customers.
• Follow procedures while ensuring DOT compliance.
• Read and work from invoices, shipping tickets, and electronic instructions.
• Maintain driver logs, trip reports, and inspection reports.
• Assist with loading/unloading and secure loads properly.
• Maintain professional relationships with customers and vendors.
• Perform routine vehicle cleaning and upkeep.

Work weekday day shifts only, Monday to Friday, and be home every night. Competitive wage of $28.56 per hour.

What You’ll Bring
