Qualifications

• Must have a valid CDL Class A License and a clean driving record.
• 5+ years of experience driving commercial vehicles required.

Job description

We are looking for a responsible driver to distribute research products to our customers. You will represent our company in a professional, safe and courteous manner aiming at increasing profitability and customer satisfaction.

This is a multi-faceted route driver position: Primary routes Monday - Friday w/one overnight route. Occasional weekend overnight fill in.

Starting Rate: $33/ hour + full benefits within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

1. Be able to drive and successfully operate a vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs
2. Pick up loads, verify for accuracy, and deliver on time
3. Accurately complete paperwork
4. Load and unload various types of cargo safely
5. Drive safely in various conditions, including heavy traffic and inclement weather
6. Inspect vehicle before start of shift; perform basic truck maintenance when necessary
7. Follow schedule and rest when necessary
8. Be able to read maps and follow directions to a location
9. Provide courteous, professional customer service at all customer locations
10. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Skills Needed to be a Class A Driver

1. Successful completion of a motor vehicle driving record check
2. Able to follow detailed instructions and communicate in English
3. Strong ability to pay attention to detail
4. Be able to repeatedly lift items weighing up to 70 lbs.
5. Drive for long periods of time safely
6. Self-motivated and reliable
7. Able to read maps and GPS
8. Good knowledge of roads and direction, traffic laws, and DOT regulations

Requirements for Being a Class A Truck Driver

1. Valid CDL Class A License
2. Clean driving record (requirements, or certain exceptions, may vary)
3. At least 5 years of CDL driving experience
