Job summary

Professional Contractor Supply is seeking a Driver Associate to operate a company truck, deliver materials locally, and assist in warehouse duties in Arlington, TX. A valid TX driver's license and clean driving record are required; forklift experience is a plus.

You should be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and reading maps to plan routes. This is a full-time, day-shift position with potential overtime on Saturdays.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid TX driver's license and have a clean driving record; background check will be conducted.
  • Must be 23 years of age or over.
  • Minimum two years driving experience with 16ft trucks, forklifts, and man lifts.
  • Familiar with the Dallas-Fort Worth area and able to read maps to plot routes.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50lbs and work independently.
  • Forklift experience or willingness to be trained.

Responsibilities

  • Staging merchandise for outgoing shipments and loading/unloading on delivery trucks.
  • Assist Branch Manager and co-workers; keep warehouse and shipping areas neat and safe.
  • Promote safety; report accidents per policy.
  • Inform Branch Manager of shortages, overloads, or damaged merchandise.
  • Operate company-owned/leased vehicle for deliveries to customers and jobsites.
  • Follow routing schedules and deliver promptly; perform vehicle maintenance as instructed.
  • Obtain signatures on invoices; follow company policies and attend trainings.
  • Attend department meetings as requested.

Competitive starting range is $22.58 per hour based on experience, qualifications, and certifications. We also offer bonus compensation!

Job Summary

The Driver Associate will be responsible for operating a company-owned delivery truck to deliver materials and finished products to customers within the local area. S/he will also be required to load and unload merchandise and assist with general warehouse duties. Out trucks are Isuzu 16-foot stake beds, all Class C trucks. Class A or B license is not necessary, however helpful.

Essential Functions/Job Requirements

  • Staging merchandise for outgoing shipment and loading and unloading merchandise on delivery trucks
  • Assisting Branch Manager and co-workers in performing assigned tasks, including ensuring the warehouse and shipping areas are neat and orderly and all equipment is kept in safe and efficient condition
  • Exercising and promoting safe behaviors and showing unyielding support of programs, rules and policies regarding safety; reporting accidents in accordance with company policy
  • Keeping the Branch Manager informed of shortages, overloads, damaged merchandise, and inventory control
  • Operating a company-owned and leased vehicle safely while delivering materials, products, and parts to customers and jobsites
  • Following traffic laws at all times
  • Obtaining signatures on delivery and pick-up invoices or signed slips
  • Following assigned scheduling and routing of deliveries; making deliveries in a timely manner as scheduled
  • Following maintenance schedule for truck services and repairs; taking vehicle for service when instructed to do so
  • Reporting any mechanical problems to Branch Manager and maintaining vehicle in a neat and clean condition
  • Following all company policies and remaining courteous and service-minded while dealing with other employees and customers
  • Other duties as assigned by management
  • Attending department meetings and trainings as requested

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid TX driver's license and have a clean driving record or able to obtain a TX drivers license. Following a conditional offer of employment, a motor vehicle record will be conducted.
  • Must be 23 years of age or over
  • A minimum of two years driving experience over; 16ft trucks, forklifts, and man lifts
  • Must be familiar with the Dallas-Fortworth area and have the ability to read directions and use street maps to plot delivery route
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 50lbs in order to load and deliver packages
  • Must be a dependable worker with the ability to carry out a series of work instructions without constant supervision
  • Must be proficient in computer and general internet usage
  • Must be able to create a positive working relationship with employees and customers
  • Must be able to work independently and using effective problem-solving skills to resolve issues
  • May be required to work some Saturdays for inventory
  • Must have forklift experience or willing to be trained
