General Job Category Description
The focus of the Inside Sales position is to support the Outside Sales team by maintaining the daily orders with existing accounts and working closely with the P/A from those existing accounts.
Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities
- Selling and servicing customers, providing pricing and product application information.
- Making inside sales generation priority #1 by taking phone/fax orders; providing delivery information.
- Preparing quotes and follow- up as required in a timely fashion.
- Servicing Outside Sales staff as required; providing timely feedback and a “heads up” on large quotes.
- Inputting all orders into the sales order entry system in a timely fashion.
- Scheduling orders according to customer requirements.
- Maintaining day to day customer relations and service duties.
- Fulfilling open orders within a 30-day time frame.
- Maintaining sales documentation to ensure accounting, order, and inventory data is correct.
- Keeping catalogs and price lists current and up-to-date; informing customers of promotions and quantity prices; answering questions regarding product applications.
- Cold-calling as needed to increase sales; create and maintain customer lists.
- Coordinating efforts with Company advertising and promotions to best increase product sales, calling vendor representatives to sell new products or introduce new product lines.
- Keeping management advised of competitive products and prices.
- Attending department meetings and other Company meetings as requested by management to improve selling skills and product knowledge.
- Communicating honestly and succinctly with Purchasing regarding forecasts and spikes in sales.
- Staying current on product knowledge.
- Possess a thorough and complete understanding of the company catalog.
- Performing as-needed vendor relations and negotiations.
- Maintaining computer and software-related skills.
- Providing promotional literature and product information as requested.
- Keeping supervisors apprised of customer issues as warranted.
- Assisting with the company’s inventory management program when required.
- Suggesting related “add-on” items for customer orders.
- Communicating with outside sales and management regarding job starts and sites.
- Communicating with customers regarding new products added or customer feedback on potential new products.
- Assisting other inside sales staff when needed.
- Participate in job-related training and continuing education.
- Representing the Company at all times in a public relations capacity.
- Maintain a neat appearance in accordance with company dress code policy; always remain courteous and service-minded while dealing with other employees and customers.
- Maintains punctuality and regular and reliable attendance
- Protect and maintain confidentiality of company trade secrets and other confidential and proprietary information including, without limitation, customer information and sales data.
- Collaborate and communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external customers.
- Support a culture of collaboration and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Complete projects and assignments on time.
- Comply with all rules and procedures.
- Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or department management.
Skills/Requirements:
- At least 1-2 years of sales experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of tools and products in the construction industry. Be familiar with product line displays, showroom, and demonstrate features and uses of product application.
- Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, personable, well organized.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work independently and be independently motivated to achieve results.
- Ability to negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Professionalism with respect to time management and meeting deadlines.
- Enthusiasm for working in an organization where structure is evolving and flexibility and teamwork are necessities.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fluid, fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in NetSuite.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Excel.
- Ability to report to work in a timely manner.
- May be required to work weekends and after regular business hours as needed.
- Travel required for hands-on product and application training as well as other training assigned by management.

Salary: Starting at $61,500 based on experience
