Job summary

Adults and Children with Learning Disabilities (ACLD) is seeking a Day Services Driver for AM/PM shifts in Bethpage, NY. The role involves transporting participants to and from the day program and ensuring safe transport, with a schedule of 8a-10a and 2:30p-4:30p, Monday through Friday, totaling about 20 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Clean, valid NYS driver’s license.
• Minimum two (2) years driving experience. Some experience with developmentally disabled population preferred.
• Complete (within six (6) months of hire) and maintain required training in SCIP (Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention).
• The ability to assist with lifting and transferring a person.
• Must have flexibility to be reassigned to other programs and/or locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation to and from the day program and assist the people we support in entering and exiting the vehicle.
• Monitor all passengers during transit for the purpose of ensuring the safe transportation including monitoring the continued use of seatbelts.
• Complete detailed, accurate documentation
