Job summary

ACLD is hiring a Day Services Driver for the Day Habilitation Program in Bethpage, NY. You will transport adults with developmental disabilities to and from the day program, assist them entering and exiting the vehicle, and ensure safety through seatbelt monitoring.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a clean NYS driver’s license, and at least two years of driving experience. SCIP training is required within six months, and lifting/transfer assistance may be needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Clean, valid NYS driver’s license.
• Minimum two (2) years driving experience; some experience with developmentally disabled population preferred.
• Complete (within six (6) months of hire) SCIP training.
• The ability to assist with lifting and transferring a person.
• Flexibility to be reassigned to other programs and/or locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation to and from the day program and assist the people we support in entering and exiting the vehicle.
• Monitor all passengers during transit and ensure the safe transportation including monitoring seatbelt use.
• Complete detailed, accurate documentation.
