Job summary

Global Medical Response is hiring an Ambulance Operator (Driver) for a full-time role in Purvis, Mississippi. You will respond to emergency and non-emergency requests, transport patients, and deliver high-quality care and customer service from start to finish.

You will maintain vehicle readiness, document trips, follow safety procedures, and coordinate with medical and dispatch teams using standard radio communications. CPR is preferred and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid state driver’s license.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR card preferred.
• Driving record compliant with company policy.
• Pass a physical agility test.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency dispatch requests and transport patients to/from facilities.
• Document trip details clearly and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Maintain a safe and clean vehicle environment; complete vehicle checks at shift start and report issues.
• Use radios and standard codes to communicate and coordinate routes.
• Operate stretcher, hydraulic lift, wheelchair, PPE and dispose supplies as needed.
• Collaborate professionally with health and safety personnel and fellow drivers.

IMMEDIATELY HIRING! AMBULANCE OPERATORFULL-TIME Opportunity

We’re hiring Ambulance Operators that will respond to emergency and/or non-emergency requests for transportation needs and deliver high-quality care, treatment and customer service to patients.

Responsibilities:

• Drivers will respond to operation and dispatch requests and use the necessary tools, maps and addresses to efficiently transport customers to and from facilities in a timely manner.
• Clearly document trip information details and adhere to company policies and procedures while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
• Take pride in maintaining a safe and clean vehicle environment for patients, complete the regular mechanical checklist at the start of shifts and report any vehicle issues to the Fleet Manager as needed.
• Use appropriate communication methods including standard radio transmission codes to effectively respond and route patients and comply with the company’s information security standards.
• Drivers will operate transportation equipment including stretcher, hydraulic lift, wheelchair as well as be able to use protective personal equipment and manage disposal of supplies as necessary.
• Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow drivers and operations team.

Minimum required qualifications:

• State Driver’s License
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• CPR card (Preferred)
• Driving record in compliance with company policy
• Pass Physical Agility Test
• Some work experience, preferably in healthcare
