Job summary

Cooper Machinery Services is seeking a professional CDL driver to haul turbochargers and engine components across the continental United States, with overnight travel. You will load, secure, and transport heavy parts, represent the company on site, and ensure paperwork accuracy and customer satisfaction.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and strong communication. Willingness to travel, maintain DOT logs, and comply with all regulations is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL and DOT health card.
• Experience loading and securing irregularly shaped loads on flatbeds/ trailers.
• Comfortable with overnight travel across the continental US.
• Safety-minded, detail-oriented, and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver turbochargers and engine components across the continental U.S., with overnight travel.
• Load and secure irregularly shaped freight on flatbed trucks and trailers.
• Represent Cooper on site: handle paperwork, coordinate return dates, and fulfill special customer requests.
• Pass customer feedback to management promptly.
• Stay compliant with DOT regulations, including ELD entries, IFTA reports, and inspections.
• Keep trucks and trailers clean, orderly, and maintained to DOT standards.
• Assist with shipment prep (crating, wrapping, stands).
• Support shop projects and basic grounds upkeep as workload allows.

What you will do

• Pick up and deliver turbochargers and other engine and compressor components across the continental U.S., with overnight travel
• Load and secure irregularly shaped freight on flatbed trucks and trailers
• Represent Cooper on site: handle paperwork, coordinate return dates, and take care of special customer requests
• Pass customer feedback to management promptly
• Stay compliant with DOT regulations, including accurate ELD and daily logbook entries, quarterly IFTA reports, annual inspections by DOT-approved personnel, and driver physical records
• Keep your truck and trailers clean, orderly, and maintained to DOT operating standards
• Help prepare items for shipment, such as wood covers, wrapping, and building stands
• Support special projects in the shop and basic grounds upkeep as workload allows

Who you are

• Valid Class A CDL
• Current DOT health card
• Good driving record
• Experience loading and securing irregularly shaped loads on flatbed trucks or trailers
• Comfortable with over-the-road travel and overnight stays
• Safety-minded, detail-oriented, and a clear communicator
• A reliable team player with a customer service mindset, strong time management, and the adaptability to handle changing schedules
• Mechanically inclined

Preferred

• Experience hauling industrial, engine, or compressor components
• Hands-on experience with ELD systems and IFTA reporting
• Experience preparing freight for shipment (crating, wrapping, blocking, or building stands)
