Job summary

Rural Metro Fire Department is seeking an Ambulance Operator (Driver) for immediate full-time employment. You will respond to emergency and non-emergency transport requests, delivering high-quality care and customer service to patients.

Responsibilities include operating ambulances, documenting trip details, ensuring vehicle safety, and communicating with dispatch using standard codes. CPR is preferred and a driving record must meet company policy.

Qualifications

  • State Driver’s License is required.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Driving record must comply with company policy.
  • Pass a Physical Agility Test.
  • Some healthcare experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency transport requests and transport patients.
  • Document trip information and adhere to policies while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Maintain a safe and clean vehicle environment and complete the mechanical checklist at shift start.
  • Use standard radio codes to communicate and route patients, following security standards.
  • Operate equipment including stretcher, hydraulic lift, wheelchair and manage PPE/disposal as needed.
  • Collaborate with allied health, public safety personnel, drivers and the operations team.

IMMEDIATELY HIRING! AMBULANCE OPERATOR FULL-TIME Opportunity


We’rehiring Ambulance Operators that will respond to emergency and/or non-emergency requests for transportation needs and deliver high-quality care,treatmentand customer service to patients.


Responsibilities:


  • Drivers will respond to operation and dispatch requests and use the necessary tools,mapsand addresses to efficiently transport customers to and from facilitiesin a timely manner.

  • Clearly document trip information details and adhere to company policies and procedures whilemaintainingconfidentiality and patient rights.

  • Take pride inmaintaininga safe and clean vehicle environment for patients, complete the regular mechanical checklist at the start ofshiftsand report any vehicle issues to the Fleet Manager as needed.

  • Useappropriate communicationmethods including standard radio transmission codes to effectively respond and route patients andcomply withthe company’s information security standards.

  • Drivers willoperatetransportation equipment includingstretcher, hydrauliclift,wheelchairas well as be able to use protective personal equipment and manage disposal ofsuppliesas necessary.

  • Work collaboratively and in a professional manner withall alliedhealth and public safety personnel as well as your fellow drivers and operations team.


Minimum Required Qualifications:


  • State Driver’s License

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

  • CPR card (Preferred)

  • Driving record in compliance with company policy

  • Pass Physical Agility Test

  • Some work experience, preferably in healthcare
