Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. in Concord, North Carolina is hiring a CDL-A Delivery Driver for full-time overnight shifts. You will inspect vehicles, manage bills of lading, and drive to customer sites while adhering to DOT regulations.

The role requires a valid CDL-A, at least 21 years old, and 50,000 miles of experience. Benefits start Day 1, with competitive pay and a sign-on bonus based on experience.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Class A CDL.
• Minimum 1 year or 50,000 miles of tractor-trailer driving experience.
• Must meet McLane’s MVR and risk rating.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English well enough to perform tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects and submit DOT inspection report.
• Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy during off-hour delivery.
• Drive tractor-trailer to destination in compliance with regulations and on customer premises.
• Maintain driver logs according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipts and temperatures.
• Unload trailer and deliver products to customer premises.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do As a CDL-A Delivery Driver

• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition.
• Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery.
• Drive tractor-trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle on the road and on customer premises.
• Maintain driver log (Manual or Peoplenet) according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, product temperatures and exceptions.
• Unload trailer, delivering product into customer premises.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications You’ll Bring As a CDL-A Teammate

• At least 21 years of age
• Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A)
• At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience
• Must meet McLane’s MVR and risk rating qualifications
• This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
