Job summary

Impactconnects is seeking a Driver in Minnesota to transport materials, load and unload trucks, and deliver items as needed. The role requires maintaining a clean driving record and a valid DOT health certificate, with overtime as needed.

The position involves operating a company truck, using forklifts and pallet jacks, and assisting in production areas while ensuring production spaces stay clean. Prior related experience or a high school diploma/GED is required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate truck in a safe and proper manner, obey traffic rules, and be courteous to other drivers.
  • Maintain DOT Health Certificate.
  • Keep truck clean and perform preventative maintenance via truck vendor.
  • Load and unload trucks, wrap skids, weigh and clear mail, and strap trays.
  • Assist in production area and keep production areas clean.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.

Title: Driver

Job Classification: Hourly, Non-exempt

Department: Material Management

Reports To: Materials Management Manager

General purpose of Job: Transport via Impact's truck, mailings to USPS, pick up & delivery of materials, transport of any needed materials.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintains good clean driving record.
  • Maintain DOT Health Certificate
  • Operates truck in safe and proper manner. Always obeying the rules of the road and being courteous to other drivers.
  • Maintains preventative maintenance on company truck through truck vendor.
  • Keeps truck clean and neat.
  • Be able to work overtime as needed at the end of each shift on very short notice.
  • Use forklifts and pallet jacks to move skids to their locations.
  • When not trucking additional duties will be but not limited to:
    • Loading & unloading trucks
    • Wrapping skids
    • Weighing & clearing mail
    • Strapping trays
    • Cleaning & sweeping mail entry.
  • Available to work in production area as needed.
  • Always keep production areas clean
  • Any other duties assigned by supervisor

Performance Measurement: Performance feedback will take place both verbally and written on a day-to-day as needed basis, recognition in monthly employee recognition meetings, formal training on changes in SOP as needed with a formal review by the supervisor at least annually

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience or training.

Language and Math Skills

Ability to read a limited number of one & two syllable words. Also to print & speak simple sentences. Ability to add & subtract two digit numbers and to multiply & divide with 10s & 100s.

Physical Demands

Often standing or walking, may climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Often lift up to 40 lbs & sometimes up to 70 lbs. Use hands to finger, handle or feel. Reach with hands and arms. Vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, & ability to focus.

Work Environment

Work near moving mechanical parts, fumes & air borne particles, risk of electrical shock, and exposure to toxic chemicals. The noise level is moderate to loud.
