Job summary

S.P. Richards Company in Lithia Springs, GA is seeking a delivery driver to safely and efficiently service customers on overnight routes.

Responsibilities include pre/post-trip inspections, checking paperwork, maintaining electronic logs, unloading at delivery sites, and providing courteous customer service. Qualifications include CDL Class A with 2 years driving, clean MVR, and familiarity with DOT rules; Roadnet experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid CDL Class A license and 2 years of driving experience.
• Clean three-year motor vehicle history.
• Meet SPR’s Driving Standards as provided at interview and maintain them throughout employment.
• Must be able to safely drive product to customers on established routes using route numbers to identify correct customers.
• Must meet all DOT regulations and maintain required licenses or qualifications.
• Experience with Roadnet for DOT logging and POD is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an accurate electronic delivery log for route navigation, DOT compliance, and Proof of Delivery (POD).
• Clean and maintain the delivery vehicle.
• Adhere to safety rules including handling of hazardous materials.
• Retrieve returns and record their numbers accurately.
• Complete the delivery route in the predetermined sequence.
• Unload and/or pick up orders at delivery sites using appropriate equipment.
• Handle and file customer paperwork as needed.
• Provide courteous, efficient, and professional service to customers.

Summary:

Responsible for the safe and timely delivery and retrieval of office products to S.P. Richards customers during overnight routes, ensuring excellent service and adherence to DOT and company safety standards.

Pay Rate:

$29.00/hr

Work Hours:

starting time ranges between 7:30pm - 12:30am (8-11hr shift) Returning the same day

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform Company established and DOT mandated pre- and post-trip safety inspections of assigned vehicle.
• Check paperwork against the products ordered and shipped.
• Maintain an accurate, detailed electronic delivery log using the onboard tablet or ELD system for route navigation, DOT compliance logging, and Proof of Delivery (POD)
• Cleaning and maintenance functions of delivery vehicle.
• Adhere to all safety rules including the handling of hazardous materials.
• Retrieve returns and accurately record their numbers.
• Proficient completion of assigned delivery route in the predetermined sequence.
• Unloads and/or picks up orders at designated delivery site utilizing equipment on truck which includes pallet jack, power jack, hand truck or by hand when necessary.
• Proper handling and filing of customer paperwork as needed.
• Provide courteous, efficient and professional service in dealing with customers. Neatness is a must.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license class A as required by DOT and two (2) years driving experience.
• Must have clean three (3) year motor vehicle history.
• Must meet SPR’s Driving Standards as provided at time of interview and maintain those standards throughout employment.
• Must be able to safely drive product to customers on established routes, utilizing route numbers to identify correct customer.
• Must be able to meet and fulfill all regulations and requirements for truck drivers as prescribed by the DOT and maintain valid DOT licenses or qualifications.
• Must demonstrate strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately read and match product numbers, line codes, and location identifiers in a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred: Experience using Roadnet system for DOT logging and POD collection, and familiarity with tablets or ELDs for electronic logging and route navigation.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to write legibly.

Math Ability:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Must be able to move heavy product in excess of 1,000 pounds with moving aids designed to move such items including hand trucks, dollies, motorized cart, pallet jacks, etc. The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
