Job summary

LifeStream at Glendale in Arizona is seeking a compassionate Driver to transport our senior residents to medical appointments, social outings, and shopping trips.

You will interact with residents to ensure comfort, safety, and timely service, while maintaining vehicle cleanliness and adherence to schedules. This role requires empathy, patient communication, and reliability in daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Current, active driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to assist residents with mobility and transfers as needed.
• Ability to work Monday–Friday shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, timely transportation for residents to appointments, events, and activities.
• Assist residents in and out of the vehicle and with mobility devices as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the vehicle; perform basic checks.
• Log mileage and coordinate with Activities Director for schedules.
• Respect privacy and confidentiality of residents.

As a Driver, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, timely, and comfortable transportation of our senior residents to various destinations, such as medical appointments, social outings, and shopping trips. You will play a crucial role in their well-being and quality of life by providing exceptional customer service and care during transit. Available shift is Monday-Friday. Ensures license tags are up to date.Maintains confidentiality of residents’ personal information in and out of the community and protects and supports residents’ rights.Maintains vehicle mileage logResponsible for taking necessary paperwork provided by nursing director or designee to appointmentsEnsures adequate daily coverage for meal service by communicating with the Culinary Services Director and/or Host/Hostess, to include taking resident orders for meals, providing drink refills according to residents’ / guests’ requests, assists with the cleaning, resetting and preparation of the dining room in-between mealtimes.Performs all other duties as assigned or required.Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesInterpersonal skills to communicate with residents and staff.Must show compassion and genuinely care for the elderly and disabled.Must be knowledgeable of the location of the MSDS sheets on hazardous materials and able to understand the guidelines.Must be able to work independently and as a team to prioritize workload as emergencies arise.Must possess current, active driver’s license with an excellent driving record. May require CDL for larger vans as required by state law.Demonstrates a SERVANT heart and attitude by following our Mission Statement.Education/Experience: High school degree or equivalent preferred. Previous experience working in a care facility desired.Working Environment/Physical Requirements: Position requires some strenuous physical work such as loading wheel chairs into van, assisting residents with walkers, canes, etc. or those who become unsteady or fall. Heavy lifting, pushing or pulling of objects up to 100 pounds occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently.
