Priority Dispatch Corp. is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to provide safe, courteous transportation for residents and coordinate vehicle maintenance. This role requires assisting residents, documenting vehicle conditions, and delivering items to apartments as needed.

Responsibilities include managing daily trips, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining relationships with residents and families. A valid license and 21+ age are required; CDL may be needed for larger passenger vehicles.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record.
  • CDL may be required if driving vehicles with more than 15 passengers.
  • Experience in senior living or customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive community vehicles on schedule to social destinations.
  • Assist residents into/out of vehicles safely.
  • Secure wheelchairs and restraints to stabilize wheelchairs during trips.
  • Document vehicle damages and maintenance records and report to ED.
  • Deliver groceries and items to residents’ apartments.
  • Establish and maintain trip inspections and preventative maintenance records.
  • Escort residents to on-site engagement activities.
  • Report unsafe conditions to the Executive Director.

Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE:The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for providing safe, courteous transportation service for our residents. This team member also coordinates vehicle preventative maintenance, routine maintenance, and general repairs to ensure vehicle longevity and safety.RESPONSIBILITIES:Drives vehicle from community to social and other destinations according to assigned schedule.Assists residents into and out of vehicle in a safe manner.Secures passengers’ wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip.Practices safe driving techniques, adheres to posted speed limits, and follows state guidelines for motor vehicle operation at all times.Documents all damages to company vehicles, including accidents, dents, natural wear and tear, etc. and provides regular updates to Executive Director.Assists in documenting resident outings such as taking photos as requested.Cleans interior and exterior of vehicle after each outing and ensures adequate fuel levels.Establishes and monitors daily and weekly trip inspections and preventative maintenance programs, maintains detailed records on the maintenance of all vehicles, and provides regular updates to department leader and ED.Delivers groceries, deliveries, and other items to residents’ apartments.Assists the Engagement Director with activities and programs as requested.Ensures vehicle charges are submitted to the business office daily.Maintains a safe driving record according to company guidelines.Assists with escorting residents to and from on-site engagement activities.Develops and maintains strong relationships with residents and family members of residents. • Report potentially unsafe conditions to the Executive Director.Perform other duties as assigned.SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalent.Must be 21 years or older.Valid driver’s license with clean record that meets company insurance standards.Commercial driver’s license (CDL) designation may be required if driving vehicles with a capacity of more than 15 passengers.Experience in customer service environment, preferably in a senior living setting.Working knowledge of all motor vehicle safety precautions and comply with safety measures.Competent in organization, time management skills and handling multiple priorities.Desire to work with older adults and their familiesCPR/First Aid certification.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Physical Demands include: Standing, Walking, Sitting, Bending, Reaching, Pushing, Pulling, Climbing Stairs, Grasping, Manual Dexterity, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Vision Acuity, Color Vision, Talking, Hearing, Tasting, and Smelling.The weight determined to be appropriate for a Community Driver to lift with or without reasonable accommodations is up to 25 lbs.EXPOSURE RISK CLASSIFICATION:May perform unplanned tasks involving exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissue which may contain AIDS, HIV, and Hepatitis A, B, and C viruses.
