Job summary

ACS Manufacturing is seeking a Driver to handle local transportation, trash hauling, and general maintenance support at our Denison, TX facility. You will perform safety checks, load and unload products, secure cargo, and assist with mechanical system maintenance under the supervision of the Department Lead.

The role requires a Texas CDL-A, a medical card, a DOT physical, and successful drug screening with a clean background.

Qualifications

• Must have Texas Commercial Driver's License-Class A.

• Must pass a drug screen and background check for employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks on vehicles and equipment before trips.
• Follow loading protocol and secure cargo for transport.
• Assist with loading/unloading finished products and transporting to warehouse.
• Trash hauling to other facilities as needed.
• Survey facilities and repair mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems to ensure health and safety standards.
• Operate forklifts, hydraulics and power tools; assist in setup of ventilation and refrigeration systems.
• Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality and follow safety standards.

Company Description: ACS Manufacturing is a state-of-the-art design build manufacturer of acoustical equipment enclosures, fuel tanks, turbine systems and skids. We have one of the largest facilities in the industry, nearly 300,000 square feet on 36 acres in Denison, Texas and has expanded its operation to 150,000 square feet facility in Abbeville, SC.

Job Summary: The Driver is responsible for all activities related to driving commercial vehicles including trash hauling, flatbed/gooseneck transport and local transportation needs. This individual assists with the day to day operation of the facility under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

• Performs safety checks on vehicles such as brakes, steering columns, lights and mirrors prior to trip
• Follow and maintain loading protocol
• Secure cargo and re-check their stability throughout the trip
• Inspect trailers before loading and after loading
• Assist with loading and unloading finished product on truck and transport to warehouse
• Trash hauling to other facilities
• Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
• Perform maintenance of electrical systems
• Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems
• Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
• Perform manual repairs when necessary
• Routine work on forklifts, hydraulics and power tools
• Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrates good listening skills
• Obey the safety standards of ACS and follow local, state, and federal regulations
• Responsible for any other tasks that may arise; at any time

Work Environmental & Physical Demand

• May stand for long periods of up to 12 hours.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively, as well as frequent twisting and bending, to meet fast paced work demands
• Work in various adverse conditions such as tight or enclosed spaces, heights (ladders, skyjacks and top of enclosures) and extreme temperatures. May work inside or outside to complete work assignments. Position requires exposure to dust and dirt.
• Follow safety standards in working with multiple services, tools and equipment.

Minimum Requirements/Experience

• Must have Texas Commercial Driver's License-Class A
• Medical card and DOT physical
• Must have 1- year experience working as a CDL driver with no legal or safety incidents on record
• Must have a minimum of 1-year experience as maintenance technician in an industrial environment
• Must pass a drug screen and background check for employment

Required Education

• High School diploma or equivalent
