Job summary

Equus Workforce Solutions is seeking a Driver/Transportation Specialist to safely transport students on center vehicles and maintain routine vehicle inspections, logs, and safety records. You will help enforce center standards of conduct and serve as a positive role model during daily operations.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED (Associate's degree preferred), a valid CDL with passenger and air brake endorsements, a good driving record, and strong customer service,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
• Valid CDL with passenger and air brake endorsements.
• With possession of Valid Driver's License Category 4.
• Good Driving Record.
• Customer service, communication, and organizational skills required.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and deal with irate customers.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products preferred.
• Law 300.

Responsibilities

• Inspects vehicles daily to ensure safe operation.
• Maintains positive control of students during transport.
• Ensures all available safety devices are used at all times.
• Ensures that only authorized students are transported off center.
• Ensures students do not bring contraband on center vehicles.
• Transports students as necessary.
• Is helpful, responsible, and caring.
• Picks up and delivers material as directed.
• Inspects to ensure that routine vehicle inspections on GSA fleet are conducted as required.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections on GSA fleet.
• Reports vehicle repair needs to supervisor.
• Keeps accurate log of students transported off and returned to center.
• Maintains timely and accurate vehicle and transportation logs and records.
• Enforces center standards of conduct at all times.
• Serves as positive role model by reinforcing appropriate behaviors.
• Documents in an accurate and timely manner student misconduct.
• Assist Safety & Security Officers with student inspections as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
