Job summary

Watsco is seeking a driver to load, deliver, and transport HVAC freight from wholesale HVAC distributorships to customers within a defined region in Bakersfield, CA. The role requires operating a 22’ box or stake bed truck, loading/unloading, and collecting invoices with signatures.

You will assist in warehouse tasks, perform daily truck maintenance, and strictly follow safety protocols including PPE. A clean driving record, ability to pass DOT medical exams, and a willingness to learn are

Qualifications

• 22’ minimum box truck or stake bed driving experience.
• Possess a clean driving record with no more than one moving violation in any year and no more than one preventable accident in the past two years.
• No restrictions, suspensions or DUI in the past 3 years.
• Ability to pass DOT physical examination requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and provide superior service.
• Willingness to learn and grow with the company.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload products for delivery in the assigned region.
• Collect invoices with proper signatures and return to Sales Center Manager.
• Assist in the Warehouse with inventory counts, picking, verifying orders, and other warehouse duties.
• Maintain daily truck maintenance checklist and report in/out times with merchandise returns.
• Adhere to all safety requirements, including wearing PPE.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Accountability for other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Load and unload products for delivery in assigned region.
• Collect invoices with proper signatures and return to Sales Center Manager.
• Assist in the Warehouse with inventory counts, picking, verifying orders, and several Warehouse duties.
• Responsible for daily checklist of truck maintenance and reporting in/out times with merchandise returns.
• Adhere to all safety requirements, including wearing appropriate PPE.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• In addition to the above responsibilities, this individual is held accountable for all other duties as assigned.

And here is what you will need to be successful:

Required Qualifications

• 24 months of verifiable, current experience driving a 22’ minimum box truck, or stake bed truck.
• Possess a clean driving record:
• No more than one moving violation in any one year period.
• No more than one preventable accident in any two year period.
• No restrictions, suspensions or DUI convictions in the past 3 years.
• Ability to pass DOT physical examination requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and provide superior service.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• Warehouse experience, including driving a forklift/appliance lift, is a plus.
