Responsibilities

• Works with Life Enrichment to ensure transportation for residents.

• Adheres to policies to protect residents' health and safety.
• Completes vehicle inspection logs.
• Assists residents with special needs during transportation and boarding.
• Assists with activities when requested by Life Enrichment Director.
• Obeys all state driving laws and requirements.
• Ensures residents and associates are safely seated.
• Performs routine vehicle maintenance and cleaning of buses/cars.

Reports To: Life Enrichment Director

Summary: The Driver is responsible for providing safe, timely, and courteous transportation for residents to and from various activities while providing quality service. The driver may also participate in activities as requested by the Life Enrichment Director.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Works with Life Enrichment to ensure transportation for residents
• Provides transportation to medical offices, retail stores, churches, voting precincts, special events, general errands, and other as needed
• Ensure that the policies and procedures are effective and enforced to support the health and safety of the residents
• Complete vehicle inspection logs
• Assists residents with any special needs during the transportation process, such as carrying packages, opening doors, assisting residents onto and out of the vehicle and to the point of destination
• Assist with activities when available and as requested by the Life Enrichment Director
• Obeys all state driving laws and requirements
• Ensures residents and associates are all safely secured in all seats
• Provide routine maintenance and cleaning of facility bus and/or cars such as washing the vehicle and cleaning the interior

Qualifications Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Must have a current valid driver’s license in the state of Georgia and clean MVR

Knowledge and Skills:

• Must be knowledgeable of all safety precautions and comply with safety procedures
• Ability to react calmly in emergency situations and be considerate
• Ability to operate a chair lift and secure regular and mechanical wheelchairs and scooters
