Job summary

CNH Industrial Wisconsin seeks a driveline controls engineer to develop and calibrate software for CVT, DCT, and Powershift transmissions. Collaborate with driveline systems and test engineering teams to design, calibrate, and verify control software in MIL/HIL environments and on dynos/vehicles.

Requires a Bachelor's in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and 6+ years of driveline controls experience; expertise in MATLAB/Simulink, ETAS INCA, and Vector CAN tooling is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of experience with controls/calibration development for driveline systems.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for development, testing, and calibration tools.

Responsibilities

• Develops driveline controls algorithm and performs calibration tuning in MIL/HIL and real-world dyno/vehicle environments.
• Supports decomposition of software requirements from driveline system requirements.
• Develops model-in-loop test plans to verify unit designs and document results.
• Calibrates driveline software in dyno/vehicle environments to optimize drivability.
• Verifies and validates driveline controls software using Hardware-In-Loop.
• Adheres to engineering standards and ISO-26262 lifecycle processes.
• Fosters innovative design concepts and product opportunities.

Job Purpose

This position will be responsible for development and testing of driveline controls software. This position works closely with the driveline systems and test engineering teams in the controls design, calibration and testing of CVT, DCT, Powershift transmissions.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilites Include:

• Develops driveline controls algorithm and is able to perform calibration tuning optimization in virtual environment (MIL/HIL) and real world environment (dyno/vehicle)
• Support decomposition of software requirements from driveline system requirements
• Develop controls algorithm for software unit feature designs based on architectural design and software requirements.
• Develop Model-In-Loop test plans to verify unit design implementation, perform MIL test and document results.
• Perform calibration of driveline software in dyno and vehicle environment to optimize drivability performance
• Perform verification and validation of driveline controls software using Hardware-In-Loop
• Ensures the use of engineering standards, methodologies, and global product development processes in engineering team’s daily work.
• Practice software development lifecycle methodologies including ISO-26262
• Fosters an environment that welcomes and encourages new and innovative design concepts, inventions, patents, and product opportunities for improvement
  
  

Requirements

Experience Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or another relevant discipline
• 6+ years of experience with controls/calibration development for driveline systems
• Excellent proficiency in Matlab/Simulink for development, testing and Etas INCA or equivalent for calibration and Vector tools for CAN data logging

• Basic knowledge about Functional Safety and EMI/EMC is a plus.
  
  

Pay Transparency

The annual salary for this role is USD $106,725.00 - $163,645.00 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
