Job summary

SEBCO, a Bronx-based nonprofit housing group, is seeking a driver to operate a passenger van for senior residents. You will transport clients on scheduled routes, maintain the vehicle, and complete required logs and forms with accuracy.

Applicants should have a High School diploma, a valid NYC Class C DL, and at least three years of NYC driving experience with a clean record. The shift is Mon–Fri, 9 am to 3 pm, with benefits based on hours worked.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Clean driving record with no DUI in 24 months.
• Strong knowledge of road safety and traffic laws.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to navigate using GPS or maps.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and drive company passenger van in a safe and responsible manner.
• Transport Seniors assigned destinations within the designated routes and timeframes.
• Ensure the vehicle is well-maintained and report any mechanical issues or accidents promptly.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks (e.g., checking tire pressure, oil levels, fuel levels).
• Ensure all relevant paperwork, such as logs, delivery forms, and travel documents, is completed accurately and promptly.
• Ensure timely arrival and departure from scheduled destinations.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance of the vehicle.
• Assist passengers with entering and exiting the vehicle, if applicable.
• Perform any additional tasks as directed by the supervisor or manager.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Previous driving experience preferred.
• License: Valid NYC, Class C -DL License with a clean driving record.
• Skills: Good knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to navigate using GPS or maps.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Three years of driving experience in NYC, no more than one moving violation in 24 months, no DUI convictions.
• Must be in very good health.
