Job summary

Hartville Hardware Middlefield is seeking a Drive-Thru Lumber Sales Team Member to assist guests with lumber and building materials through our drive-thru, process orders, and load vehicles. The role requires safety-minded operation of a forklift and accurate order fulfillment.

Part-time schedule averages 25–28 hours weekly, with Saturdays and evenings required; store hours are Monday–Friday 6:00 AM–7:00 PM and Saturday 7:00 AM–5:00 PM. Must be 18+ years old and able to lift materials.

Position Overview

Hartville Hardware Middlefield is growing, and we are looking for dedicated individuals to join our team and be part of this exciting new chapter. As a Drive-Thru Lumber Sales Team Member, you will play a key role in providing exceptional guest service to individuals purchasing lumber and building materials through our drive-thru. You will help guests select the right products, process their orders, operate a forklift, and safely load their vehicles, making every trip through the drive-thru seamless and efficient.

Power Equipment OperationOperating a forklift is a core part of this role. Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old. What You Will Do Customer Assistance

• Greet guests promptly as they arrive at the drive-thru with a welcoming and helpful demeanor
• Assist guests in selecting appropriate lumber and building materials based on their needs and project requirements

Drive-Thru Operations

• Process guest orders efficiently and accurately using the point-of-sale system
• Provide guests with detailed information on products, prices, and applicable promotions
• Work with team members to retrieve and package customer orders, ensuring all products are in good condition and ready for pick-up

Forklift Operations

• Safely operate a forklift to move, load, and organize inventory and materials in the drive-thru area
• Perform routine safety checks and maintenance on the forklift as required
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while operating equipment

Load Handling

• Safely and efficiently load purchased materials onto guests' vehicles, ensuring secure and balanced loads
• Provide guidance on securing loads for safe transportation

Guest Service Excellence

• Address guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism and a focus on resolution
• Ensure a positive and memorable guest experience through excellent service

Drive-Thru Organization

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the drive-thru area
• Collaborate with the warehouse team to restock products and ensure inventory availability

Safety Compliance

• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when handling materials and assisting guests
• Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly

Availability Requirements

• Part-time position averaging 25 to 28 hours per week
• Able to adjust schedule as department needs arise
• Must be willing to work Saturdays and evenings until 7:00 PM
• Store hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and Saturday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
