Job summary

HDR is seeking a Drinking Water Engineering Intern to contribute to municipal water infrastructure projects in the Water Business Group. You will gain real-world experience on water, wastewater, pipeline, pump station, and treatment facility projects while learning under the guidance of professionals.

As an undergraduate or graduate engineering student, you’ll develop skills in hydraulic modeling, engineering analyses, and construction support, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to

Responsibilities

  • Assist with engineering analyses, hydraulic calculations, and design drawings.
  • Support project teams with data collection and modeling.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop resilient water infrastructure.
  • Work under supervision of a Project Manager on water conveyance and treatment systems.

In the role of Drinking Water Engineering Intern, we'll count on you to:

  • Gain real-world experience on exciting water, wastewater, pipeline, pump station, and treatment facility projects
  • Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs
  • Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to the planning, design, and delivery of municipal water infrastructure projects
  • Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager supporting water conveyance, storage, and treatment systems
  • Assist with engineering analyses, hydraulic calculations, technical reports, design drawings, and construction support activities for water and wastewater facilities
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams on the development of sustainable and resilient water infrastructure solutions
  • Support project teams with data collection, hydraulic modeling, engineering analyses, cost estimating, specification preparation, and construction-phase services
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software pack ages such as Microsoft Office products, Autodesk, or similar CAD software's.
Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
